The new 2013 Ford Escape will be hitting prime-time television on March 31, and not in the form of commercials. Ford has teamed with NBC and Telemundo to bring "Escape Routes," a road-trip reality series that will utilize the SUV as the vehicle of choice for six teams of two in a six-episode series full of challenges and adventures.
It's not the first time Ford has debuted new vehicles in a unique fashion. The American automaker revealed new 2012 Fiesta and Explorer models with social media in the last year. Similarly, the airing of "Escape Routes" also engage viewers on a social level.
People watching show will be able to fully-interact during each episode, participating in the various challenges, while also being able to track their favorite team in real time in the social and digital space. Each week, contestants will travel to a new city in their Ford Escape, starting in Los Angeles, with pit-stops in New York, Atlanta, Miami, San Francisco and Las Vegas. The winning team of "Escape Routes" will take home a grand prize of $100k and two all-new 2013 Escapes. Those viewers who participate at home and online also have the opportunity to win a 2013 Ford Escape, as well as trips and other high-tech gadgets.
Hosted by Rossi Morreale, "Escape Routes" will air for six weeks starting March 31 on Saturdays at 8 p.m. Eastern on NBC. The show will also air Saturdays at 11 p.m. Eastern on mun2, a bicultural network for young Latino Americans. It marks the first time Ford will air a series for both market broadcast and bilingual networks.
Lewis Ford is looking forward to watching "Escape Routes" each Saturday, and hopefully, those in the greater Fayetteville area are as well.
